Patrol is there to help should your child need it.
PROCEDURES FOR NOLAN CAR RIDERS
We continue to have a safety problem regarding afternoon pick-up. Some
parents who pick up students from both the K-2 and the 3-5 pull out of
line and cross the double yellow lines to come in the third entrance.
I and the Signal Mountain Police Dept. are afraid that this is going to
result in a head-on collision at some point in the future. As a result,
I am making the following change to our pick-up procedures in
the afternoon:

Anyone picking up a child from the front of the K-2 wing must go to the end of Sam Powell Road and enter the campus using the west entrance which is closest to the ball fields.

Nobody is to use the third entrance on Sam Powell Road to enter campus to pick up students in the afternoon.

Parents who only pick up students at the front of the 3-5 wing may continue to use the second entrance on Sam Powell.
This change is strictly to address a safety concern in the afternoon.
I do not want students or parents involved in a tragedy at Nolan on my
watch.

Morning and Afternoon Drop-off
During morning drop-off, come in the main entrance of
Nolan and pull down as far as the Safety Patrol instructs before stopping
to let students off.
When dropping your child off at the front entrance follow these guidelines:

Have your children ready to get out as soon as
the car stops. |

Exit the area as soon as the line moves. |
| 3. |
Never get out of your car to assist your child!
If you need to do this, go to the parking lot on the east side
of the building. |

Never park your car in front between 8:15 and
8:50 a.m. |
| 5. |
Even when it rains, pull all the way up so we
don't back traffic up to Shackleford Ridge Road. |
Please do not use the drive on the east side of the building as this is
reserved for buses. Cars or pedestrians in this lane of traffic pose a
dangerous safety problem. Children are not allowed to walk in this
area during dismissal.
Thank you for your cooperation in this pick up procedure. The safety of
your children is our main concern. Children will be outside for pick-up
for 15 minutes after school has ended. After that they will be placed
in the SACC- child care program
until you arrive. We appreciate your understanding.
