Principal Ken Barker has spent more than 20 years in administration in
the Hamilton County School System.

FIRST GRADE TEACHERS
| Ruth
Maxwell has been teaching for over 20 years. She has a BS degree
in Special Education, Early Childhood and Elementary Education from
ETSU. She has a Master's in Elementary Education from Cumberland
University. Chattanooga Now presented her with the Susan B. Anthony
Award in 1987. She has two grown children.

| Deane
Sprague has been teaching first grade for more than 20 years.
She is married and has three wonderful children and two grandchildren.
In 2002-2003 she was
Hamilton County Teacher of the Year and a finalist for Tennessee
Teacher of the Year. She has a BS degree in Child Development and
a Master's in Elementary Education. Both degrees are from the University
of Tennessee. Go Big Orange!

| Kim
Lockery began teaching at Nolan during the 2002-2003 school year.
She graduated from UT with a Bachelor's degree in Child Development
and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Cum Laude.
She has one child named Jackson.

| Kellye
Ketchum started teaching at Nolan in 2006. She began teaching in
2001 and has enjoyed teaching in many different places, including
China and Africa. She graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana Tech
University.

Katie
Gibbs has been teaching since 2003. She has a BS in Education from
the University of Alabama and a Master's degree from the University
of Alabama at Birmingham. She enjoys teaching at Nolan with her
mother, Peg Willingham, and her aunt, Kathy Taylor. She is married
to Gregsby Gibbs and has one daughter.
